Missing People of Katrina

I am desperately, desperately begging for your help in finding my uncle. Even if you just KNOW him or was an aquaintance of his please email or call me. My uncle had NO FAMILY in Gulfport. We NEED to hear something. PLEASE help us find him.

I am posting again because we still have not heard any word on my uncle. My faith wants me to believe that he is alive some where and just is not capable of getting in touch with us for whatever reason. Please help my family search for him. We are continously checking on any word from him or anyone who may have seen or talked to him last. We don't know if he actually evacuated or not. Thank you for your time in this matter.

there's about 20 of us going to Gulfport, Biloxi next week. My wife and I both have family all over the coast
and know our way around real good. Please call or email me if you have not heard from Ulysses yet.

Dear Machell Hegler-Dailey, I worked with Ulysses at the Grand and we were friends and we emailed each other also...this was in our paper Thurs.....I am so very sorry and I have been so very upset getting the news, he was a sweet heart and I will truely miss him...



Coroner identifies nine new hurricane victims

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove on Wednesday released the names of nine additional Hurricane Katrina victims.
His office also clarified that two people - Gerald Marshall of Gulfport and James Sanders - were not storm-related deaths. Their names had appeared previously on death lists supplied by Hargrove's office.
Here are the names of the dead from Harrison and Hancock counties released this week: James Lacey Brown of Biloxi; Joseph Campbell; Patricia George of Bay St. Louis;

" Ulysses Hegler of Gulfport; "

Ruth Marsden of Pass Christian; Wilfred Morgan; William Morris of Pass Christian; James Pierce and Anna Ruiz of Bay St. Louis.
Hurricane Katrina claimed the lives of more than 200 family members, friends, neighbors and visitors to the Mississippi Coast, some of them during the Aug. 29 storm, others in its wake but as a direct result of that catastrophe.
Most have been identified, and tributes to them have been written in the Sun Herald's daily We Remember column.
For a number of Katrina's victims, the newspaper has only the names and no other information, and is appealing to readers to join in the quest to solve the mysteries that remain. The paper wants to honor every life lost, and needs help for details about many of the Katrina dead.
